OK - as you may, or may not know, Laura and the kids have been in Utah for the past two weekends. So, the Nielson's kindly adopted me during the past 10 days or so (many thanks to Stephanie for her patience).
This weekend we went East of Issaquah out to an area called Snoqualmie Ridge. Theres a huge national park and we found a great trail called the Denny Creek trail. In the book that Ive been using as a reference manual "Best Hikes with Kids" Western Washington & The Cascades - referred to the trail as the Denny Creek Water slide, due to the natural water slide that has been worn out of the granite over the past 10,000 years or so. The down side was the water was FREEZING cold, being mostly snow run-off. The kids (and Bryan) didnt mind too much.
The weather was beautiful for the most part, sunny with some clouds, but a bit cool for the water temperature. I guess thats one of the deals with living in Washington, it can occassionally be in the 60s (or cooler like today) even in August. So for all of those who are complaining about 90-100+ degree temps - plan a trip to WA, its likely not going to be that hot here (but you never know the weather changes pretty frequently). So far, I like it though.
So, I tried another slide show, takes up less space and you can view more pictures -with captions. I even tried adding music this time. Tell me what you think - Music yes or no?
